Open and Master Championships to be conducted in Track and XC in 2001

That's right, There will be an open championship for selected track and field events for both open and masters athletes this summer in conjunction with the Junior Olympic Track and Field Championships, to be held in June. Events and time schedule will be announced on the USATF Montana website.

Initial plans point to the following events in the Championship meet: 100 meters, 400 meters, Mile, 5000 meters, 1500 meter racewalk, long jump, pole vault, shot-put. The date set for this championship meet is June 9th at Van Winkle stadium in Bozeman.

Who'll be the State Champion in the open division on November 3rd at the USATF Montana State Cross Country Championships? Who will be the Masters (over 40 years of age) Champion? It will happen for the first time in many years, as USATF Montana State Championships will be held this fall in Bozeman.
