Committee Chairs responsible for the operation
of the state's Association for USA Track
& Field.
On
Sunday, October 2nd the USATF-Montana
Association will hold its annual meeting
at Lindley Center in Bozeman to set the
vision for 2006 and establish the goals
for the upcoming year. This year is also
an election year for the Board of Directors
and Committee Chair appointments with
a number of openings to be filled for
the next term. We invite all of you to
consider the opportunity to assist with
molding the future for USA Track &
Field in Montana; whether it be on the
Board of Directors, a Committee chair,
or an individual interested in participating
on one of the committees.
If
for no other reason, we invite all of
you to join us on a beautiful fall afternoon
in Bozeman for an outdoor barbeque and
no-host social hour with coaches, parents,
athletes and members of USA Track &
Field. Flipping hamburgers and hot dogs
will be Dave Skelton and Greg Mohl, while
Kay Newman supervises the mess that the
two are going to make! It should make
for a interesting spectacle.
The
no-host social hour begins at 10:30 A.M.
with the annual meeting starting promptly
at 11:00 A.M. The annual meeting will
begin with the formal presentation of
the 2005 "Outstanding Athlete"
Awards that recognizes the outstanding
performances of track & field athletes
during the 2005 season. Special track
guest Scott McGowen (the first Montana
native to run a sub four-minute mile)
will be assisting with the presentation
of awards.
